Note From Music and P.E.
All children are expected to wear appropriate shoes for music and music and P.E.. This means that shoes must have a toe and heel. High heels or shoes with thick soles are not suitable. Cowboy boots, snow boots, sandals, flip flops and crocs prevent children from being safe and able to do their best, (Crocs with the strap on the back will be OK in music, but not P.E.). Children may bring these shoes to school and change into appropriate shoes before going to music or P.E. Please help your child follow these guidelines.
We are using the Wii on Wednesdays for P.E. and Music on our rotation schedule. These classes are supplemental to our regular curriculum and are for grades one through five. Kindergarten is not included in the classes on Wednesdays. These classes are still following the content standards for P.E. and Music. We are carefully selecting appropriate games and activities on the Wii that support these standards. We are using Just Dance for Kids, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Music and other school appropriate games. We are selecting games that can include participation by all students even though only one student or teacher may have the remote. Both of our principals, Steve States and Margaret Hofer, have approved and support our use of the Wii in our classrooms for these purposes. We would like to invite you to come and observe our teaching and the students participation on any Wednesday from 9:00-11:30.
